From where he came from, no one knew.

He always wore a troubled look on his face.

He had the aura of loneliness around him.

All days he sat quietly at the bus stop.

He wore almost tattered clothes.

He looked underfed and on the verge of a breakdown.

Yet no one ever looked his way.

It was almost as if he was invisible.

Oh world! Oh world! Oh world!

What has become of thee?

No one takes time to even know their neighbours.

No one cares about the homeless.

No one cares about the old.

No one cares about anything!

So into self are the people of this generation.

Oh wicked generation, arise and learn to love!

We've always looked the other way, it's just that now, with cameras everywhere, there's a lot more to look away from.

Wow! What a timely poem! Yes, I have to agree folks are cold because there are so many devils in sheep's clothing and you don't know who makes a living on preying on the compassionate givers. I belong to Love and Compassion Ministry and we support their causes to help the homeless and the poor. They screen each person to access their needs and they help them like no one church can! This way when I see a homeless person I can give them the name of a ministry that will help them. Yes, this really helps and they have successfully turned lives around. Teach a person a skill an you have fulled a life with hope but just to give a person a handout does not mean they will experience a revelation in their life. Christian Missions know the needs of the people. Thank God for them.

Peace, love and blessings,

John Michael

It's too sad now what the world has come too. Everyone is always busy doing something, or talking and texting on the phone, no one is hardly noticing anyone around them anymore. The technology has made people less compassionate. You may be just about one of the good and kind ones who would notice that someone is in distress.
