Everything moves so slowly until you want it to
Then it's all a blur as it moves before you
Past, present, and future all in an instant
Pain, pleasure, birth, and death are a constant

Bless me Mother that I may grow
From the baby in your mind
To the skeleton in your closet
And becoming ever colder

Please don't leave your eyes closed to the truth
Don't remember me for how I was or how I will be
Wrap me within you now so that I may be reborn
And spring forth with renewed understanding

From being into being and round to ending myself
Connected at all points and fading away
Screaming through the hands over my lips
Unable to stand here on my own

You can't look away
You can't make me stay
You can't make me die
I refuse to believe in you anymore

You just keep turning your back on me
But I'm infront of you again
Keep smiling like you care
And I'll remain in your craddle

Watch over me through your blindness
Hold my hand as I meander through
You don't know the way
And I trust you so

Crumbling images of incoherent shadows
The cry of an unloved child
Rings through the air in the morning
And is silenced when darkness falls

Sing to me and keep me in your heart
Forever feeling loved despite how you hate me
On bare knees upon the shards of glass
Drowning in your tears over your own damn mistakes

I'll twist the blade within your flesh
Purse your lips in morbid satisfaction
Course through your mind for a single thought
And pass it off with a grin

What was white is now grey
What was pure is now frayed
What was innocent is now to blame
All wrapped up nicely within your shame

And when I learn to walk on my own
My first steps will be over your grave
Where I will stand forever
To prevent you from rising again

Imagery of anger and neglect.
Well written and constructed piece that tears away the veil of innocence.

Weekends In New England by Linda Alexander

Love, romance, innocence, intrigue, danger, and lust. Life is complicated, and love even more so. Life, and love, can be hazardous to a lady's health. Especially if she's fallen in love with a married pop star.
