Sticky Things

Stick with me on this poem

Poem Artwork

Sticky Things

this all may sound so silly
but stick with me for a bit
listen close to my dilema
please help me come to gripps

sticky things are on the table
sticky things are on the floor
somehow they're on the ceiling
dripping down onto the floor

sticky things are in the cupboard
they're even on the walls
sticky things are on the mantle
they're strewn way down the hall

sticky things are in my easy chair
they're on my brand new couch
sticky things are on the tv remote
can't change the channels now

sticky things are over all my clothes
I found them in my shoes
I guess I better check my socks
yep, my socks are sticky too

sticky things are even in my hair
can 't figure how they've gotten there
I think they're even in the air
darn sticky things are everywhere

so I sprayed and scraped, wiped and cleaned
to finally get the stickys clean
about that time the doorbell rang
was my grandkids coming back to play

now I love them more than anything
and still love them with their sticky things
and of all the sticky things there are
I keep those kids stuck to my heart

Grandkids will stick to your heart as well.. but the tV remote should be off limits... Just saying...lot of fun to read.

I think you answered your own question there. It either had to be little kids or an abundance of hair spray over spray. My wife uses so much, we've got flies stuck in midair.

You stuck me with laughter I couldn't control. Come to think of it, we put those little sticky things on my TV remote so that my fingers won't slip off those shiny buttons when I hog the remote like a man as a God-given right to do. ;-)

I think this would make a great country song. Reminds me a great deal of a poem I did long ago called, Little Things.

I did stay with you. Interesting, kinda fun, but not sure what it means. Perhaps I am not sticky enough. John
