If I Were A Zombie

If I were a zombie, I think I'd have it made
I'd never have to take a bath, I'd never have to shave
I'd never have to worry, what clothes that I had on
I'd never have to change 'em, just wear 'em till they're gone

I wouldn't have to go to school or worry about my grades
if I took a seat in science class, heck, the class would run away
I'd never have to go to work, just walk around all day
don't know what job that I could do, but march in some parade

I'd never have to worry, just where that I belong
or trying to learn karaoke to this silly zombie song
my life would be so easy, I could never do no wrong
I'd never have to stop to rest, or ever find a home

I'd never see a doctor, and even if I did
he'd say boy you look so sick, I think you may be dead
I'd say doc, I think you're right, then I'd bite him on the head
that's what he got for telling me that hurtful thing he said

Now Halloween's my favorite time, I sure do have some fun
going 'round from house to house, just to watch  'em run
don't bite the hand that feeds you, you've often heard it said
but they can keep their candy treats, 'cause I'll bite their hand instead

So I'm a happy zombie, don't feel sad at all for me
don't have to work, go to school, or do anything you see
I'll just walk from town to town, going about my way
and if I happen to run into you, well, you better run away

If I were a zombie, I think I'd have it made
I'd never have to take a bath, I'd never have to shave
I'd never have to worry, what clothes that I had on
I'd never have to change 'em, just wear 'em till they're gone

You make a perfect zombie in a perfect world like a perfect comic book unfurled.

It is amazing how a real life event, probably lead poisoning, resulted in the invention of the zombie as a fixture in American fiction. Real zombies were people who were thought to be dead even though they were only in a coma (caused by a number of ailments) and then, apparently, came back to life, often in a very groggy and incoherent condition. These reversals of death were often scary to those who experienced them and told the stories. Hence, the legend was born.

Sometimes (although not always) my sentiments exactly. Nicely done and creative. John

I'd love to be a zombie,
with no blood in my veins.
And i'd be as smart as you,
after i eat your brains.

Loved this gruesome tale.
