Wings And Things
try new things,
you'll see what's what
things long forgotten
here, give it some thought
go fly kite
or sail a boat
make a wish
or an ice cream float
go climb a tree
and if you can't
then plant a seed
just grow a plant
go learn to dance
kick up a heel
or learn words to a song
you don't know still
clear out some junk
that you never touch
go move that thing
clear out that stuff
walk down the street
out in the rain
make neighbors wonder
if you've gone insane
don't go to bed
stay up all night
read a whole book
'till the morning light
go climb a hill
up to the top
then be darn proud
how far you got
call a friend
not seen in a while
they'll sure be glad
it'll make them smile
or take a trip
to someplace new
not very far
just do it for you
write a poem
or make up a song
if it comes from you
it can't be wrong
now you've come this far
don't sit and pout
let's keep going
don't give up now
'cause there's lots of things
that I haven't mentioned
like a chocolate flavored
bolonga sandwich
or try a new dish
like a broccoli pie
with bananas on top
and whipped cream on the side
or ice cream for breakfeast
and candy for lunch
you'll have a sugar high
but only this once
see, trying new things
won't hurt a bit
and if they did
you'll get over it
so if you're tired
of the same old things
then spread your wings
and try new things
Love ya!
Jane
won't hurt a bit
and if they did
you'll get over it"
These are the best lines I read in a long time, my good man.
You not only made me a follower of yours, I am now a big fan!
Looking forward to sharing more in the future...
John Michael
try 'em once then
try 'em twice!
And, last but not least. I thought that your title meant you were going to write about the pathetic plight of all those buffalo losing their wings for the Super Bowl. ;-)

I will admit to having tried some of these, but I do think I will pass on the vanilla flavored bologna sandwich and the broccoli pie with banana on top. My wife tells me I can eat the weirdest combinations she’s ever seen, but the ones mentioned above just seem to give my stomach a couple of turns. But the poem itself was fun to read.
