These Weary Bones

I want to go where the buffalo roam
where the air is clear and the wild wind blows
I want to go where the cold creek flows
down from the mountains to the hills below

I want to go but one thing I know
I gotta get going and I can't wait long
before too long these old weary bones
might get to weary to carry on
these weary bones....these weary bones........
to carry on

I want to see with my own two eyes
a time a' coming we can recognize
a land of people where their minds are free
and truth and honor are the only creed

I want to go but one thing I know
I gotta get going and I can't wait long
before too long these old weary bones
might get too weary to carry on
these weary bones....these weary bones.........
to carry on

I want to see gone the long dark night
then raise the curtain to the morning light
then keep searching for the faintest sign
that faith and hope are still alive

I want to go but one thing I know
l gotta get going and I can't wait long
before too long these old weary bones
might get to weary to carry on
these weary bones....these weary bones.........
to carry on

I want to where the only pain
is the pain you remember but it's gone away
I want to go while I'm in the light
with fire in my belly and grit in my eyes

I want to go but one thing I know
I gotta get going and I can't wait long
before too long these old weary bones
might get too weary to carry on
these weary bones....these weary bones.........
to carry on

I want to go where the buffalo roam
where the air is clear and the wild wind blows
I want to go where the cold creek flows
down from the mountains to the hills below
I want to go but I thing I know
I gotta get going and I can't wait long
before too long these old weary bones
will get to weary to carry on
these weary bones....these weary bones........
get carried on
these weary bones....these weary bones........
get carried on,
these weary bones....these weary bones........
get carried........................oooonnnnnn!

I want to go too! A wonderful pen.

From the sound of it, you ain't going to get there… At least anytime soon.

The lament of an old timer in a new timing world. Based on what I know of young people today, they are getting there with or without us.

But it is rather catchy and with the right arrangement and singer, could be a big hit.
