Blank verse sonnet

1.
And Cush begat Nimrod. Nimrod was king.
Nimrod the might Hunter yes was he.
Nimrod commenced to make the people one.
A tower Nimrod Hunter King to build.
A tower soaring upward as his pride.
For Nimrod was indeed a prideful man.
The people gathered. Nimrod ordered BUILD!
And the foundation soon it was there laid.
Layer upon layer onward upward.
The tower of Nimrod to Heaven reach.
Keep working people. For we must not fail.
As one we will reach none save God the Lord.
And the work it contained without end.
Meath Sun and moon and every weather there

2

Cease not for God will welcome arrival.
With open arms to say to us well done.
The tower must reach upward ever on.
Without to fail for we serve only Him.
Through drudgery of body they dud sing.
Who is like unto Nimrod, none but he.
Who govern strengthening to his mighty strength.
Who bends the bow none save unsightly arms.
Behold the mighty hunter . Hail Nimrod.
Behold the Babel tower babylon.
We will reach Heaven and there see the king.
And He will welcome us with open arms.
And say to us well done ye enter in.
But wait there was one thing to there notice.

The people all did speak with single tongue.
Hand me a hammer one worker did say.
Spraken sie Deutsche? Perhaps said in return.
And French and Spanish Russian and Chinese.
And not a single word was understood
And they all left off building that tower.
And God confused their tongues, sent them abroad.
For God is not the author confusion.
Yet order as the Bible does contend.
The tower it is Babel babylon.
For on one's knees one does approach to God.
In prayer and in confession of his sin.
Of truth this the gospel plain and sure.
The proclamation has gone out again

Right. And I appreciate being let down easy on typos. As for trying to understand how God did this, I just accept it. Thank you Lewis

A fascinating story; one I fully believe. Genesis Chapter 11 Verse 1 (NIV)..."Now the whole world had one language and a common speech." That fact is amazing considering the diversity of the human family in 2016. Verse 7 has always intrigued me. "Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other." Boy, did that work. The word 'us' is very telling too. Trying to grasp how the Most High accomplished this boggles the mind. Peace to you... rlc
