Do I know What Its All About
by Barbara Lynn Terry
People are walking by the house,
they smile when they see me looking out
I smile back and wonder where they're going
because they are all going the same direction.
A flock of Canada Geese fly overhead honking
that all too familiar sound they make in flight.
They fly in the "V" pattern so precise
not a bird out of line or straggling behind.
A child rides by on a stand up scooter
just laughing and having a grand time
And with not a care in the world
the child scoots in and around the adults.
A policeman stops a car a few houses down
and goes up to the driver of the car.
He talks for a few minutes and then takes
the man's license and writes him a ticket.
There is a robin feeding her young in a nest
and they hungrily take what she is giving them.
Then she flies away and comes back with a twig
because she is still building her nest.
God tells me that I must make my way in the
world but that He will do what he can to help
me survive and keep me safe from harm
and other things that could injure me.
As I sit here watching the world go by
I often wonder what is going on in
the great cosmos and here on earh.
Do I know what its all about?
Hugs,
Anna
