Very strong and powerful. A great poem. We always have to forgive in order to move on with our lives. I love the way this poem ended. Great write.

Tough as it can be, one day one looks back and you are glad it happened. I like how you say "I don’t hate you as I forgave you way back" and " Happy I am as I refused to become you "

It's very important to forgive so you can move on.If you don't forgive , that person stays a part of your life 4 gud.

Honour yourself with Truth and Prayer and you shall heal.

Dearest Sandie,

Incredibly powerful write. As tough as it is or may seem, there is certainly light at the end of the tunnel. An extremely moving piece, one that should be read and remembered. Your last stanza most definitely says it all. Thank you for sharing this Sandie.

Hi there!

I am soooo sorry for not getting back to you before now. Life, is as always, CRAZY! Moving, getting a new job, the holidays....sigh. LOL.

Anyway, I loved this one. Reminds me of my "Tell Me Lies" that you liked. But this poem has so much more soul and you reveal the layers of despair, feelings of betrayal and the awakening from the frozen lake of pain.

Well Done!

Sandie,

This is so real to me. The one that drove me cRaZy for years is now back again trying to entice me. I will not go that route, not again. As a matter fact, men get on my nerves these days. Love ya lots. ;) Very well put together my friend.

This reminds me of my sister's ex-husband, thanks goodness she was smart enough to kick him to the curb before any babies were born! Why do they want to spend the rest of their lives woth us and yet treat us like gabbage? What's the point really? All women should read this. Wonderful empowering piece. Ni.~~

ya know, you write in so many different voices, it is quite difficult to tell what is really from your own experience and what it is that you write coming from the experiences of others, or, from just your own imagination! but that is quite the gift, Sandra. i thought the writing style of this was different from your usual style, some stanzas had me reading them over again in order to get the full gist, but i think your expression was exceptional, and you've outdone yourself once again! thank you for sharing!

Simply beautiful. Painful, but with a lot of reality in it. Things we do for the ones we love...or is it the ones we are obsessed with?:) An eye opener for the phenomenal women/men out there.

This happened to my cousin. Her ex came back 10 years later, after having left her and their daughter for another woman, begging her for reconciliation. Uh, I don't think so. She cracked up when I told her to tell him, "She's not a dog that she should return to her vomit." But good Christian girl that she is, she had forgiven him long ago. That doesn't mean she was stupid enough to take him back, however." This write was very well done, something anyone who's been burned in the heart, male or female, should be able to relate to, Sandie." ~~Nordette

PS: About fake accessories, "With breast implants and a Brazilian tan..." LOL. Men don't give a damn, do they?

Such strength here, Sandie - in content, form, phrasing, voice and structure. It builds in both volume and emotion. Very well done - and, as for the narrative... it takes us the whole gut-wrenching gamut and though no-one wish anyone to have the experiences of the first part, to be made free in the wholeness of who YOU are and who you are truly destined to become is AWESOME. I would not envy the path that had to be taken to get it, but, in this instance, it seems it was every inch "no pain, no gain"! Painful, sobering and yet ultimately victorious and life-giving! I guess "No!" was a brand new addition to her personal vocabulary? So many of us need to learn that word and to use it appropriately. Thank you so much for this. And a VERY belated Happy New Year to you... may it be a very fruitful one for you. God bless, Kate xx
