Lament
*************
Love you dear
With all my heart
I want wake up
(In the morning)
Where you are
Still after dreams
The night before
It’s only you
That I adore
So few moments
That we have alone
Leaves me waiting
By the phone
At times it seems
It never was
So do you still
Love the man
Who thinks
You’re beautiful
Could you still
Love the man
Who thinks
You’re beautiful
If I’ve said
Or told you yet
There is nothing
You should regret
But as time comes
It surely goes
So just count
The minutes
As they go
I’ll send you flowers
I gave my heart
I hate the time
That we’re apart
With a promise
Please wear my ring
Plan our wedding
If love remains
Where are the moments
We have alone
When I’m left waiting
By the phone
Sometimes it just seems
It never was
That you still
Love the man
Who thinks
You’re beautiful
Because it seems
It never was
Do you still love the man
Who thinks you’re beautiful
Could you remember
To love the man
Who thinks
You’re beautiful
Sad arrangement - love in two shifts! Maybe you can catch up on the days off...real love is still makes thing beautiful as the poet declares. I like the way you wrote the verses, it gave the poem greater impact.

What a very special and endearing proposal. She would be crazy not to accept.
