Dedicated to all those who go the extra mile to help others. They seem invisible. Then someone gets suspicious and for no good reason gives that person a bad name. It happens all of the time at work or out in the volunteer world. It's an unjust crime!

There are folks who step-up to the plate and give it all they got. They help others in need and they don’t get back a whole lot. But what they receive are gifts of the spirit known to just a few. They get satisfaction like no other folks get who just sit back in a pew. Still, it is said that “No good deed goes unpunished” and this is a somber fact! For someone will find some fault with this “do-gooder” and that will be that! So instead of being revered by others, some just fabricate false tales. Others listen to “trash-talk” and the truth is masked inside of a whale! These accusers never take the time to walk a mile in this person’s shoes. They just see what they want and send that person off to sing the blues. It’s a sad state of affairs but this seems to happen all of the time. Buzzards want to pick apart their prey and then sit back and whine. If you want to know someone, step-up, and walk a mile in their shoes today. Then you'll know what they really have to do, to make it through another day. Amen! ©JMD 11/8/2017

Another beautiful reflection John, yes-what they notice can be a reflection more of the person looking (and their own coping and defenses) then what they see. Reminds me of the Bible quote "Do not tire of doing good..."

I always at unless you walked a mile in a person's shoes you don't know why they do the things they do, I totally agree with you, God out to be the only judge of each soul. We should never judge another nor claim to understand, thanks for sharing this John, blessings.

It certainly does seem like whenever someone is doing good just for the sake of it, there are people who try to horn in, perhaps out of jealousy, and try to come up with ways to sabotage the good work.

For example, people were feeding the homeless on the streets of Houston. Other people pushed for an ordinance that any food supplier had to have a certified commercial kitchen. Most were doing it in their personal kitchens at great personal expense and doing just fine, thank you, for the roadblock.

As a personal caregiver, I have known of other caregivers who were not appreciated for calls answered all through the night and lovingly answer them. I am grateful that I was treated right. 'Enjoyed this write a lot!
