Just Like
(Written at a friend’s party – 2001)

Just like dew you are dropping off my lips,
I am wet with your black rapture.
Just like last night we had the most
beautiful conversation.

Just like your heart,
you’re wonderful inside and out.
There’s something to be said of
substance in a man.
It is so attractive to this
open soul.

When we talked, hugged, and
spent time as friends first…
It was the beginning of this gorgeous
union of man and woman
on a higher level than
“I got to get laid tonight”.

Just like when you courted me, my girls
Laughed and I was so impressed by your willingness
to work with me.
I’m not perfect and neither are you,
but you took time to show me how
really special I am.

Just like the sun.
Just like the moon.
Just like the wind.
Just like the moon.

You are my earth
and you make me feel womanly.

You are my comforter
and you keep me so warm.

I am like the happiest
woman today because of your love.
