A Desperate Search

If only I could find someone
to fill this void inside
who'd take away the emptiness
and stand there by my side

to be my one companion
whose love would never fail
and stop the endless drifting
of this ship without a sail

desperately I search
hoping each day to find
that one and only person
who loves me body, soul and mind
 

I know she's out there somewhere
a beacon of light for me
to guide me safely home
from this dark and dismal sea
