A Day Most Blessed
Psalm 118:24



Every calendar has red-letter days
That are celebrated and commemorated
For events whose significance varies –
Some bear importance for the moment
And become forgotten almost as quickly
As they happen.

Other days carry memories and traditions
That stand the test of time;
They are brought forth time and again
Within the collective consciousness.

Of all the days one may remember,
That of your birth stands out among them;
It is upon this date that new dreams began
And possibilities imagined –
The circle of life that God ordained
Should happen throughout generations
Became manifest within you,
Flourishing from your first steps
To those you take today
In your walk toward the destiny that awaits you.

This, more than any other,
Is a day that God has made;
We rejoice in it for its wonders,
And cherish the gift of You.
