Poem Artwork

Too Late

I was told it didn’t matter but I knew that it did.

So I hopped on my bike and quickly I hid.

I wandered away, too far to return,

I tried to forget, in my heart I did yearn.

That was yesterday’s love, there was no tomorrow.

I couldn’t forget, much to my sorrow.

Yet I remember the pleasure,

The sweet memories I treasure

I’ll forever be your friend.

Could that be my only happy ever after end?

Do we ever forget a lost love? This is wistful, but the person (you?) is not devastated. Somehow, there is still a lightness to the memories and regrets.
There will be happiness again.
A nice poem.

Nice write, with a bit of a sadness about it. I don't think that it will be your only happy ever after...I am a firm believer that we get out of life what we put into it, and I believe you are a go getter! Enjoyed this much!
