I wake up, I feel the pain and wonder why its happening again,

Can't understand why I'm in such misery, but to many, it will always be a mystery,

My eyes hurt and there's sharp pain, lights flashing all over again,

The brightness hurts and makes me feel nauseated, it's then I realize it's all associated,

I take pills against my will to kill the pain, but it doesn't stop it from happening,

I lay down but not for long, I feel the pain, and the pressure of my pillow is oh so strong,

Go to the hospital I know I will to get a shot of Demerol, though intravenous I truly dread, but just maybe it will remove the pain from my head.
