SHIPS OF RELATIONS

By H.J. Cruz

7/28/07

Look yee unto the bay, find yer merry ship o fools,

Aye, dar’s war ships en worships, dar’s whore ships wit-out  wenches. Dar’s a court ship wit-out a court, en sum friendships, companion ships, en evon a feu dictatorships. But not a flag stays on the mass head fer long, excepun dat one. She’s the true flag ship; Da ship o relations, en mighty battle scared is she!

Communication break down,

Two parts of a frown.

I thought he/ she said,

Foreign image in a head,

One word too many,

One word too few,

Expressive heart language

Long over due.

I love your this,

Don’t give me that!

I want your kiss,

Save formalities chat.

O the pleasantries of extremities

Brought O Sirus to his knees,

I need a mid section,

For lusty circumspection.

How we relate

Often casting fate,

When thoughts become frank,

Emotion tenders the spank,

With eyes of truth

Character’s fragility a-spook.

Can fleshy bone

Give spirit atone?

How to love indiscriminate,

Unconditionally substantiate.

How to love without possibles, point or penis.

Now to love without politics, purpose or passion.

Oh the pressure, pretense and promenade,

Mission’s impossible serenade.

As a river to an ocean,

Endless tributaries of devotion,

Another squall or all’s dead calm,

Ships- relations temper drama & psalm.

With eyes of truth
Character’s fragility a-spook

Excellent.....fragile characters do indeed spook at truthful eyes,
If the character is full of lies.

Wow this is a ships of a poem!
I love it, beautifully expressed and
Very profound poetic thoughts
But yes I have to agreed with Amber
The ship of relations in realty is
A ship of foolish attempts.
Hugsss Love Peace and Joy to you always...Morning Star

Loved the entire poem but these lines are brilliant "How to love without possibles, point or penis. Now to love without politics, purpose or passion." Would that we could learn to love that way with fewer or no conditions. Wonderful work H.

We all ride in the Ship Of Fools , sometimes Ships of Relations, can block what fools we are at that moment, but afterward, when you finally dock, you realize that the Ship of Relations really is the Ship of foolish Endeavor!

Very deep poem, HJ, But very thought provoking. I am loving your book, thank you.
