“The older you get, the more you live with ghosts.”
Nick Tosches
Perhaps it's the season
When the veil between
This world and the next
Is thinnest;
Or perhaps it's the proximity
Of my own passing
That has me thinking of
Friends and loved ones
Who've gone on before me.
I wonder,
Am I simply ruminating
On those I'll see again?
Or are they truly nearby,
Seeking to comfort me
And once again share with me
Their love and friendship
At a most uncertain time?
Whatever the reason
For their presence,
Whether imaginary or
Astral,
I'm grateful for it
For I know I am not alone
On either side
Of the spiritual divide.
I believe in common to think about those who remember who are no longer with us. You are not an exception.
