I started to name this poem: "Minnows and Ridicule"

Dangled like worms, we will not fear death
Nor fear being eaten by foes with cutting teeth …
Unlike scrumptious minnows,
We are not born to be hunted and ridiculed!
Although “far outnumbered,” we will not be outclassed
By pompous maniacs, lurking like insatiable sharks.
They show us sweet bait, sly tricks, and silver hooks …
But alone, all alone, with our cherished songs,
They whisper dastardly despicable lyrics …
Evil soothes a huge ego, and we swim in it,
To avoid scalely eyes! And their even smaller worth!…
God, please let us know, what must we do,
To repel these fiendishly clever fiends who defile us? …
Never mind, I ate them. I was pretending to be the minnow!

My 1st thought for today: Failure is not when you lose your our way - its when you are afraid to look for the right path!
My 2nd thought for today: If nobody ever complained, then we wouldn’t know who the monsters are.
My 3rd thought for today: Beware the beast … because it might be you!
My 4th thought for today: Sometimes, you have to let people be themselves so that they realize they are monsters.

I started to name this poem: "Minnows and Ridicule" or lil Ridicule or lil Minnows
New version is here:

Dangled like worms, we will not fear death
Nor fear being eaten by foes with cutting teeth …
Scrumptious minnows,
We are not,
So why should we, be hunted and ridiculed?

They show us sweet bait, sly tricks, and silver hooks …
But alone, all alone,
With our cherished songs,
They dishonor our destiny,
By whispering dastardly despicable slogans …
Laughing their mockingly sick laughs,
Smiling their shockingly sick smiles …
We are tested and teased …
As they skip, skip, skip their stuck-up walks, proving -
Old fish stink, and stink, and stinky
--- And you can never trust a shark!

Though “far outnumbered,”
Always …
We will not be outclassed,
Ever …
Or imprisoned in tight fishbowls.
Never to be forgotten, or ever to be forgiven -
They have no clue how warriors die …
For only God, can truly forgive …

Laced with fishy styles -
Opening belligerently greedy mouths,
Pompous maniacs and social terrorist
Lurk and slither like insatiable sharks …
Evil soothes a huge ego,
And we must try swim in it,
Then we must avoid drowning in clouded eyes!
And their even lesser worth!…

God, please let us know,
What must we do,
To repel these fiendishly clever fiends who defile us? …
Never mind, I ate them.
I was pretending to be the minnow!

I was working on a 2nd stanza but dropped it …

Hallelujah! Hosanna! God bless the minnows …
O heart songs, O cherished heart songs,
We will fight the ultimate fight , ‘till victory
Always Outnumbered! We nev’r run! We nev’r will!
Why, O why do you teach our children
Sneaky tricks? But, you never teach them honor?
You teach them to run , but you never to turn and fight …
Is it because you’ve never found courage yourself?…
Why do we see your fist, but we nev’r see your light?…
……. (unfinished and dropped stanza )

Dang Shy...you do darkness so well
actually it isn't dark to me but reality!!!!
it's raw and the thoughts you give with this is almost over-whelming
gives one much to think about!!!

ShyPoet,
This is an excellent expression of thoughts and questions many of us swirl around in our minds and never manage to exteriorize. It is also a very courageous look at the innermost self, that which most of us are not brave enough to face... as in fact, most of us find it easier to accuse outer "dragons" than to admit that the worst of all may live within ourselves. Thank you for this powerful poem (including the marvelous 2nd stanza), and my wishes of all
