EPISODE 1

The sailor he was washed ashore
When the ship it did capsize
He staggered across the sandy beach
Rubbed the salt water from his stinging eyes

He had landed on an island
But soon discovered he was alone
And a dreaded fear it filled his heart
'Cause he never may again see home

He lived on coconuts for four long days
But he knew this was just not good
'Cause in two month's time he would be dead
If he couldn't find another source of food

So he caught some fish, he trapped some birds
And soon the months moved into years
He had built a hut, and improvised
But he had shed so many tears

Then he seen a footprint in the sand
And Robinson Crusoe came to mind
But this was no man Friday he knew
This was a creature of a different kind

The footprint was huge, it had eight toes
And his heart was filled with dread
'Cause if this thing was to find him here
He was certain he would end up dead

He stayed away from his man made hut
Took refuge in a cave on the hill
His makeshift spear held in his fist
If it came here it's blood he would spill

He hid out there for four days and nights
But the cold and hunger forced his hand
He would move from the cave, return to his hut
Now he was weak and he could barely stand

But when his hut came slowly into view
He could see it was different than before
The roof was gone, one side caved in
And a hole where there once stood a door

But he somehow gained an inner strength
And as he walked he began to pray
Why the creature it had up and gone
But he knew it would return some day

It was two years later when he heard a yell
The land it was cold and dark
Then a once familiar sound reached his ears
It was the sound of a dogs welcoming bark

When the rescue team finally picked him up
He cried many tears of joy
But when he told them of the fearsome beast
Many weapons they did deploy

They split the force to hunt it down
In each group there were ten well armed men
But only one group of men they would return
The rest would not see the daylight again

They radio'd for help, then made for the cave
'Cause now they knew this thing was tough
And they prayed to God to keep them safe
But prayers and weapons, would not be enough

TO BE CONTINUED....

The metre's a litle ragged in places, but the story certainly pulls you in. The air of mystery about the beast is the crux of this tale - I suppose I'd better meander along to part II to find the denouement of this tale.
