crags and stone
emerge in graceful sleep
silent in their slumber
valley deep green, smothered slopes
bulky cloud shaped visions

the human beings withdraw

another sharply imaged write, Dale, which makes me draw breath... as the whole of nature does when the air thins above those timberlines. But what of the unnatural deforestations and ravishings of nature that occur through man-made desecrations? Those are the raw and ugly wounds which surely cause the earth to petrify with shame, pain and lament. Our hearts freeze alongside Nature's at the very thought.
