While resting on the shore of

I saw the jug
Floating on the water
pretty blue glass
Rusty old cork

The note was written years before

I read the words
Though not to me
The message sure
From Salton Sea

An Invitation
To wade in deep
Then lay back and float
Love mine to keep
From an old note
And a body of water
The love was his
For someone's daughter

And I the thief
Reread the words
So filled with grief
Replaced the bottle
Then turned to leave

When next I saw
Rising from the water
Beauty that did drop my jaw


Rising as if from the sea
