       From A Child’s Perspective

They say it takes a Village to raise a child, but it seems it may take that child to raise that Village.  Everyday you hear of this one being shaken, or that one being abused.  Countless young ones who are missing, where is this Village.  This is only from a child’s perspective.

Look into these OLD eyes, yes an old set in this young body, for I’ve seen the future and there is no Village.  Frequent trips to the hospital, multiple partners before the age of twelve, why are you failing to raise me.

This is only from a child’s perspective.

Where are we going now mommy?  Is daddy coming?  Who is he, is he my new daddy?  Don’t leave me alone again tonight!

They say it takes a Village to raise a child, but it seems it may take that child to raise that Village.  For that young child will soon raise the consciousness of all Villages to the understanding that they are children and can’t raise themselves without the help and guidance of that Village.
