Forgive me if this sounds a bit harsh, but I am still sick with bronchitis and sometimes I am a bit out of it. I was compelled to write this poem!

Thinking About My Vote
by Amber "V" Moonstone
11/6/12

What are they thinking?
Who do they think they are.
Holding signs for their chosen one,
What are they thinking?

Colliding with the frigid air,
my lungs gasping for breath,
I walk out of my condo,
into my warming car.

I am so sick,
but I have to go vote,
it's my duty as an American citizen,
I must cast my ballot.

Don't throw your candidate in my face,
I will vote for whom I choose,
leave my mind at peace,
No one really is the right choice.

Can we take another four years
of, unemloyment, higher taxes,
escalating electricity and gas prices,
what candidate is going to make a difference?

It really doesn't matter who gets in,
Our economy is in the dumper,
Our morale is at the lowest
while our fighting soldiers still die for us.

Freedom, yes we have it,
but do we really know what to do with it?
Our time is now,
this is the only time we have!

Yes I voted,
but to tell you the truth,
I don't really feel that my vote
makes any difference.

We know where all of this is going,
do we really think we have a voice?
I told you that I am not feeling that well,
and I am always positive thinker,

W E L L,

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

I think you poem is really good, it sure captures in verse, the thoughts of most Americans. It seems to me, as you so aptly put it, that is is hard to remain positive. Though our Independence as a Nation is the ideal, I can see they are fervently trying to hog-tie our Nation, and force us into the Globalist, Nationless, United World Order.
They dominate all political parties by their money!

I hope you are feeling better. I voted. I was so sick also

Good thoughts expressed.

I think you have spoken words here that many of us feel but are not sick and tired enough to say as clearly. I hope you feel better soon! Be well, Kathy

I am glad this is over, but am not a happy camper. Four more years of
the same, or four more years of different tactics. What evil lurks only the Shadow knows!

I'm glad you got to vote. We all needed to, and I did. I'm with you on all the visual assault going to the polls. We should enact laws keeping signs and political smucks much further from polling places. the only thing good about this is that you can tell where polling places are as you drive along by all the signs surrounding them.

You're also right about change. The government, by its very nature, is slow to change and change things. It's what we do that changes things. If everyone wants to do something different, it will happen. We can't rely government to make our lives better.

I hocked my retirement to finance a home healthcare business creating ten jobs, resulting in financial security for the near future without the help of greedy banks or the government in our bad economy against stupid anarchist neighbors.

our state of affairs is in bad shape ... i totally don' in trust politicians period ... for this country's benefit, these bananas better find some common ground ... the election should be based on a popular vote anyway ... the present system is archaic ... your poem brings up many interesting postulations ... good work, Amber ...

I can relate even though we are not in an election year. I have to say though, I am not optimistic about any candidate or party because, until we get away from the economic system that this world has become enslaved to, mankind is heading ever more switfly in the wrong direction. Thank you for sharing you deeply meaningful thoughts, Amber. Love, peace, and best wishes,

I think our votes count, Amber, or I would have given up a long time ago. I have to think that. Otherwise we're no better than a third world country. YES! Our votes count,
