Thanks for the great reviews, my friends. They're greatly appreciated. Ed, Jon and I are good friends, too. He knows he's adopted and to put it in his words, he says, "Wow! Dad, you cared that much and loved me that much, too? That's so, so special. If I were born to you and Mom, then you had to keep me. But you kept me anyway and that means so much more. I love you too, Dad."
I could say I hope it all works out, but you haven't got into the "deep" teen years when puberty and such rear their ugly heads, but if you can remember yourselves when you were his age, I bet he & you will get past any obstacle that may arise in your paths & of course having Gods help will make things easier too...e

We tried to have a child once, but a social worker advised against it because she was so stressed by taking care of me. I think we would've done well, and the child would have been 20 now. It was and opportunity missed.
