This poem was inspired by seeing an old farmer in a pasture hauling a bale of bay with his tractor, cows following close behind.
Herding Cows Not Stetson-hatted cowboy astride fast and nimble horse herding cows on prairie free. But baseball-capped cowman, aboard old John Deere tractor chugging along the fence, hooked bale of hay aloft. three cows plod behind munching straw that falls.

I spent some time, during my preteen years, growing up on my uncles corn farm in DeKalb Illinois. He had several cows who loved when I came to visit. This brought back some good memories. Thanks for sharing. Enjoyed. r
