Every day to sit and listen for the sea in me

Every day to rise and climb to meet the mountain
as if its magnificence were mystery to me

To caress the curve of erosion in me and dare to live

To scale the steepest slope of your soul and arrive

at the place our hearts first met in time

To find solace in the glen and rise up to soar free

To be unecumbered by all the starts and stops, 

all other days when

I set out with good intentions just like these
but slipping, sank knee-deep into the mud

and felt I could not go on
