Love of nature/water

I slice through blueness
like a swordfish,
gathering momentum
for the next moment,
when angelfish will greet
me, a prelude to heaven.
I slowly sink
to the source of fish
and pink coral
and small green plants.
I dance in the tide, grow
gills and fins, bid farewell
to the world above.
I inhabit a place
where the next stroke,
a microscopic bit of food,
a dart away from a rainbow
trout, will overflow my days.
Nights I’ll worship the God
of oceans and stars,
a perfect fish.
