Two men that I love
Only one I can have
I wear the ring of one
and bear the scars of
Childbirth for my son
My husband says he’s too old
Staying with us will only cause him harm
I don’t want to admit it, but this I know.
He’s lazy at times, and can take a lot out of you
But he also helps my ailing husband with
things he can no longer do.
Both men have health problems, I don’t
Think my son could make it on his own.
With diabetes, epilepsy, and ailments
yet unknown.
My love says I coddle and I enable.
Perhaps this is true , but I’m his
mother, what am I supposed to do.
To make it worse, now my husband is
becoming very ill. He says my son gives him
undue stress, I feel it’s my fault. My head
is spinning, how did we get in this mess?
My husband says I’m the most important
thing in the world to him, and for me he’d
do anything. But his body is slowly leaving
him, how much more must he take?
Do I throw my son on the street knowing he
Probably won’t survive, or keep stressing my
Elderly husband out, knowing that if he gets
worse, he may possibly die.
Two men that I love, must I really decide?
