Ever watched movies of when you or your parents were young? Fascinating to see and hear people perhaps departed.
Memories can be sad or happy.

I was watching this morning the shadows of yesterday.

Shown with great clarity onto the screen.

Memories of dear ones. so long departed.

Memories of happier times and happier dreams.

Dad was a great one for taking home movies.

We hated it then, but we are thankful now.

"Go walk in the garden, don't point, just keep talking."

I can hear the directions as clear as a bell.

I"m glad I annoyed them, my son and my family.

Recording our days and the things that we did.

I hope they'll remember the time we're together

And catch a small glimpse of just how we lived.

I can see myself now, the same as my mother.

Delighting in grand children climbing a tree.

And my sister cries out"That's Sue as a baby!"

And I see that the little one behaves just like me.

The movies all show us grow up and grow older.

The boyfriends, the pets, and the leaving from home.

And we are shown laughing and eating together.

And when one went off, overseas to roam.

They don't show the heartaches, the sadness and partings.

Except by an absence and a tear in one's eye.

So I say"Keep walking, don't point, just keep talking."

They'll hear me in future, as clear as a bell.
