Let me share a little tale
Of a Sun that truly fell
from his place among the stars one day
He was an Angel from above
Till he went and fell in love
To the Temple of Earthly Delight
He prayed
He tempted God’s might
And strayed out of the Light
No man can say how far he dropped
But the story has been told
Of this fool from days of old
Who strayed far from the fold
The heavens rumbled as he tumbled
To the Earth he surely stumbled
Wings clipped the script flipped
He led a life of strife
Well he lifted up his eyes
To the sky and thought he died
With all his nightmares realized
The real world he’d fantasized
He knew now was but a lie
Even though it is said that he tried
And then he cried
Dried his eyes
Then sighed
Lost in Earth’s Paradise

In the soul of dreamless night
I still think of you
Even though I strayed from the Light
To you I remain true
You are the one that I want to Love
No matter what the cost
I gave up my seat in Heaven above
To Earth I have been tossed
An Angel of earthly delight
A balm in Gilead a soothing sight

His name I cannot say
But he landed round my way
And he’s here till Judgment Day
From this sentence ain’t no stay
He be moaning and groaning
All night until the morning
But her eyes are steady burning
His heart won’t stop from yearning
He prays to be saved come what may
Her Call was the cause of his Fall
She was the finest one of all
In Days of Old
And this is what he told me
In hopes of getting free
Of this worldly disease
Of the mountains the breeze and the seas
God’s breath
The cycle of Death
Emotion’s crazy toil the Mortal Coil’s spoil
Of Life
On this Earth’s black soil

In the soul of dreamless night

One day
When he was dreaming
Nah Sun he was really fiending
And yearning for the girl of his heart
Forbidden Fruit she could be
But he just had to have her G
Even though we all know
He did it wrong from the start
Then he said to me
Beauty goes away
But Divine Love will always stay
His eyes were then raised to the sky
It was then he realized
That her Love kept him alive
And that the Lord would Pardon him
by and by
But despite the desperation
He was humbled by his station
And the blessing of Life’s supply
To me this story he did tell
While he was on
The way to Hell
As his actions gave life to the lie
