Lying words from angelic faces...
(a poem about exboyfriends...thank God!)

Poem Artwork

Men! I had spat with disgust and ire,
were not worth my love, heart or fire!

Lying words from angelic faces
hoping to hide all cheating traces.

Oily, oozing open scabs of perverted mankind -
a gorgeous example of a true horses’ behind.

His lies were soon openly revealed
no longer could cheating be concealed.

His house of cards tilted and then fell down
and my love and trust was left in misery to drown.

Turning my back upon the fiery ruins of love
I dried my eyes and donned a boxing glove.

Try to come around me again with your lies!
Try to pull the wool over these now open eyes!

Never again would I let him bring me down.
No longer would I let love dress me in heartaches gown.

The lies and cheating would not find me waiting
for another round of doubtful debating:

Should I stay or should I go?
Should I trust in this lying so and so?

I set out into the horizon of a new life.
One without all of this stress and strife.

Oh, yes, he came around spouting how he had changed.
God knows I’d believed it before. Was I deranged?

I turned my back upon the fiery ruins of love.
I laughed scornfully and donned a boxing glove.

Tell me lies, tell me sweet loving lies, that song comes to mind with this write. My former 1st husband lied and promised things he did not carry through. Was an awful time for me and I cannot forget the lies he told me, but I forgave him when he passed away, as it should be. ***********

This is a poem dedicated to all ex-boyfriends who've cheated and lied. This is not a poem about my life now. ~smile~ Thank God!!! I found a man who doesn't lie and who loves me: my husband of three years, Michael.

Wow, sounds like quite a guy; and I can see why you donned your boxing gloves.

Nice to see you posting again, SilverCeltic.

Silver, we have to weigh our sanity with our heart, I'll guarantee that sanity will win out every time.
There are plenty out there that will be faithful, we don't need to torture ourselves for love. There's enough stress in life without adding to it.
You'll find the right one..he's out there.
