An ode to a 2 year old filly about to start her racing career.
IN PRAISE OF A HORSE Oh, Vale of Avoca. Oh, beauteous steed. Oh, Vale of Avoca, The pride of your breed. Intelligent yet strong. Your hooves can do no wrong. Your eye contains a gleam. A hint of your great dream. Of races yet run, and of purses yet won. Of roses, carnations, Your place in the Sun! R.T. Caldwell
