O'Malley's in the dark, he has no idea all of his gold is fake...seems he still once more...

No One Told O’ Malley

O’Malley was still sittin on his rock protecting his beloved treasure of gold.
Still not knowing it was fake, for no one in town has ever told…
He was gettin lonely since hardly anyone stopped by, not even the waif.
He could hear chants and laughs from town, but had to keep his gold safe.

He was also gettin hungry for his stash had run out the day before.
He would have to leave his gold for a time and run to the general store.
As he entered the store with a piece of his gold to pay for what he bought.
The waif was at the cash register and he saw she became a little taut.

She rang up what he purchased and took the fake gold he used.
She could never tell him the truth for the town had too much to loose.
Besides, he had to eat, she would just pay with the real gold she had.
This is the only way and only thing to do, but left her a little sad.

She hated to deceive anyone even the misguided Leprechaun she knew.
But she had to save the town’s people and protect them all too.
She thought about telling O’Malley the truth on what she’s done.
But could find no benefit to it, besides, this was a little more fun.

"I'm sorry poor waif that you’re broke & have nothing to give or lend."
She winked at him and said, “I have untold riches, my little Irish friend.”
As O’Malley walked home thinking where could these riches be?
There must be an enormous amount for she no longer bothers me.

As  O’Malley sat on his gigantic rock protecting all his fake gold.
He decided to leave for a bit and do somethin very bad and very bold.
The Waif slept anxiously, dreaming of O’Malley & thousands of tiny moles.
So it didn’t really surprise her when the lawn was filled with 100 tiny holes.
