I Wanna live life Again

Sometimes I wanna  live life again
and turn left instead of right
Perhaps go instead of stopping
at that traffic light.

So many paths to choose…
We live life in fragmented tales
of would haves and could haves
living like ghosts in a wishing well.

I look back and I wonder
what life could have been
I finder it harder and harder
to live this now and when.

Sometimes I wanna feel love again
From an uninjured heart now.
No scars to make me frightened
No doubts to slow me down.

I can’t think about tomorrow
when yesterday is still today.
Those ghosts whisper  on and on
before they even touch the grave.

So many paths and destinies
stretching like an overused map.
So many possibilities and choices
to lead us to a different “at”

Sometimes I wanna live life again
and turn left instead of right.
Perhaps go instead of stopping
at that traffic light.

Sometimes I wanna be a child again
and believe that life’s forever…
to believe my parents are immortal
and that evil happens never.

Ah, I wanna live life again.
I wanna kiss beneath the starlight.
I wanna smile in the raindrops
as I turn left and not right.

A poignant piece, Lori. I'm at a crossroads myself, so much of this resonates strongly with me. I love the line about ghosts in the wishing well - creative and profound.

Life is a gift, a temporary one which makes each moment very special.
We can't turn the clock back. But, we can rewind it.

Living life is getting up each morning and facing the world to the best of our ability...laughter, sadness, fear, anger and love are all part of our world so we need to accept them all.

Lori, if I had the power to do so, I'd grant you your
wish, but alas... I'm just a third class wizard with a
rusty wand. -gene.

Excellant pen on one's wish to do it all over. Though I've had many ups and downs in life, along with mistakes too many to mention. I consider it was all that made me who I am now. If I had the chance I'd do it all over again exactly like the first time around.
