A Love that Cannot Die, written by Bonnie May for on my den and to memoir me. thanks I owe to her.

A LOVE THAT CANNOT DIE!  When the nighttime comes, the darkness assaults your very soul, The loneliness invades you and spirals you into a deep dark hole.

Sometimes it seems like it was yesterday, your love lay next to you.But when darkness comes, it blocks all memories from coming through.

Oh, how you miss him since he left your precious life. You find you can no longer manage because of all the strife. Thoughts of him returning and coming to you at night. Making your trials easier for he will put things right.

 But my friend he is with you and he's never left your heart.He holds a place deep within and he will not depart.So let that heart of your's open wide, you can do it if you try.

For he loved you while he lived with a love that cannot die.

When your heart is opened, his love will come breaking through.Those memories will last through the end of time.While God's lovingly holding you.

Yes, sweet love is ever-lasting. Beyond the tears, there are memories to give you smiles and belly laughs. There are memories that generate strenghth in times of need. Ihope you get to the smiles.

This poem really touched my heart because part of it reminded me of the death of my father (who I call papa ), but it also reminds me of an ex boyfriend that I had in Italy for about 7 years. For a long time, my heart was closed after I had lost my papa, and for a long time after my ex boyfriend and I had ended our relationship. It is so true that we must keep an open heart. You wrote it so beautifully in your poem, "Those memories will last through the end of time." When pain subsides, we all smile again and move on with our lives, and it is the good memories of the person that we have lost which will warm our hearts forever. I admire your writing style, and will be tracking your work on this site.

This is an inspirational and hopefilled poem that I suspect you will always treasure. Love is in the heart and will always be with you. Neither life nor death can take that away. When you get lonely talk to him. I know he will give you comfort and strength [I speak from personal experience].

Lois, I'm glad you had Bonnie to give you the gift of her loving and compassionate poem. It's obvious that she felt your loss deeply...it isn't easy to put yourself in someone's place and try to feel the pain that they are feeling,and express it in writing, but it seems that Bonnie did it here.
She's been a blessing to many of us here at AD, too.
