WE ARE JUST HUMAN.

Why do we fight and kill
driven by greed and anger
Not hunger
To claim some part of God's land
As our own!

Since the beginning of time
we traded smile for frown
bartered and lied
stole from the mothers
the babies in their arms

What's this thing called war?
Sabotage, betrayal, sirens, alarms
Why can't we just talk
What's this lie called peace?
Our young men sacrifice lives for?

Who's responsible for all this?
The Chiefs, the government the
devil in disguise?
Who dictate those who live and
those who die!
Why can't people see through
the subterfuge and lies

Like sheep being shepherded
into a pen
Then slowly being pushed
over the edge
Why are we teetering on
the ledge?
Was creation meant to evolve
like this?

Where trust is forsaken
The truth is mistaken
And the blantant lie
Is the golden Calf?
When you are promised it all
You don't get half
The glass is full of poison
and pain

The earth just cries it's
acid rain
It's heart is torn from
the centre
It's brain damaged from
the conflicting information
the body eroded
As trees, plants, rivers die

The abuse and carnage pours
into landfill
And holes in the atmosphere
cause tornados in the sky
or tsunamis in the sea
what is the meaning of all this?
Is the end really nigh

Why are we sleeping and fighting
over taxes
Why is pollution still in our air
Why not shut down the offending
plants and ban all toxic waste
So what if industry halts
It's going to in any case
But sooner than later
If we don't save our Planet

Our children are rebelling
they are out of control
The good ones are swallowed
by trend,
Is anarchy their goal
What are they rebelling?
The fact they want more?
What has happened to the parents
don't they care
where their kids are
in the midst of riots?

How did our Earth
get into this state?
Did we not learn
from the Custers last stand
the last of the mohicans
The Afganistan war
The myriad of others
where soldiers are far from home
Instead of defending their own territory
why get involved in this misery.

Bring our soldiers home
Don't let them die alone
What did the war in Iraq prove?
Nothing
Just things were made worse
What is going on in Palestine and Israel
God only knows..from the begining of time
Northern Ireland versus South
East instead of merging with West
the rebellion as
to which way of life is best

Who is anyone to dictate?
God gives us freewill
And it's taken in an instant
with War and occupation
and landfill
I know these terms seem
simplistic and true
And theres a myriad of other
goings on
But I am not a politician
I am not a militant
I am not a scientist
Nor are most of you

Playing God
is precarious
when you don't have a higher plan
but just rely on the next move
Just to prove
you are a cut above the rest
A superpower put to the test
I know there are so many good deeds
of aid and rescue
to clear up the mess
shown on the media
by reporters in the midst
of the recess
But the irony is
We are all just human
and if we perist
with war
Then soon we will all
cease to exist

The earth is dying
we are murdering its resources
Guilty by some word and deed
and the earth is so polluted
Our fish are dying in the sea
The animals are killed for sport
Our plants are struggling to grow
The rainforests are being felled
Our air is hard to breathe
Wave after wave of disaster
air land and sea
perhaps my views are simplistic
but why can't we all get along
Just follow God's commandments
Or at least try
Before we die.
