I live south of Coffeyville, Kansas, north of Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
Thank goodness we are on a little knoll, water is not a threat to us, but lots of water north, south, east and west.

L - LUCKLESS HUMANS, CRITTERS, SOIL
O - OIL REFINERY UNDER WATER
O - OLD AND YOUNG NEEDING HELP
D - DESPERATION TINGED WITH FEAR
The experts on TV are calling this 'the 100 year flood' and old timers to the area say the last time it was this bad was 1943.
Well at least we should be safe for the next 60 - 100 years, I suppose.

How awful for them. I once lived in Muskogee, where not a single person smoked pot, and we used to go South in an old Nash, to a damn us kids called the "Damn Ten Killer" - now I don't remember the real name - but it was in Kansas that I became familiar with floods.

Glad to hear you are safe. Funny in a way because I have lived in both towns. I have two daughters, one born in Coffeyville, Kansas and the other born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Strange, never had trouble like this before. Heard the last time this happened was in 1952......
