Clean lines and robust frame
every inch of her perfection...
even her magnificent sails were a sight to behold...
for she was built to serve a king
She traversed the endless deep
with the agility of the king's finest steed
for she was sleek, bold and lively...
Neptune's realm was her for the taking
She set sail upon a fair breeze
seagulls mocking her in her wake...
and the sea belonged to her
as she easily rode the placid swells
But the skies soon began to darken
and the waves became mountains...
hers was to be an easy voyage
but that was not to be Neptune's will
He tossed her wildly upon blackened waves
infuriated by the arrogance of men
and by the time his spiteful work was done
she was just another victim of his wrath
On sunlit shore in a land far away
a piece of her hull lays intact ...
defiled, humiliated, and long since forgotten...
she has reached her destination at last

Or, it could be one of perhaps, thousands of such real ships that the king commissioned to take that fatal voyage, only to be tossed like flotsam on a distant shore. It had happened so many times before.

But I enjoyed reading your amazing poem today.
Not unlike the journey of life...
There is an elegance to your words that is very appealing...

Mark
come in waves not unlike the ocean
wreaking havoc on our grandest machines
of land, sea, or air...
and some are defiled and lost forever
in the deep waters of far away oceans.
