Sometimes we hide who we are and what we feel so the world doesn't see what is there underneath. We protect ourselves because the world will only try to bring us down...
Underneath (June 3, 2012) We hide who we are So the world doesn't see What we feel deep inside What is there underneath Underneath the cover of sleep Underneath the dreams of the deep Underneath the layers of facade Is a soul, a soul that I love Now and forever We touch underneath We are who we are underneath We pretend to be brave We pretend to be strong Act like everything's fine When inside we are torn Underneath the cover of sleep Underneath the dreams of the deep Underneath the layers of facade Is a soul, a soul that I love Now and forever We touch underneath We are who we are underneath Oh the world is so cruel How can we ever be What we are underneath When everyone will only try To bring us down Underneath the cover of sleep Underneath the dreams of the deep Underneath the layers of facade Is a soul, a soul that I love Now and forever We touch underneath We are who we are underneath © 2012 Lena Kovadlo

The theme expressed through your verses here is sadly a universal and timeless one in this world/life. I can relate to what you have expressed.
