Another short on growing up

A Child's Tears

"I've lost it", he said to himself one day

"Misplaced it or perhaps unknowingly put it away."

"Don't know where, I know I had it just yesterday."

He wandered aimlessly through the house looking,

"Not here on the closet shelf,"

"nor there where the stair lies bare."

But the day moves on,

"No more time to look,"

"to much to do, to see, to be..."

"I'll come back when I find the time." said he.

"Then, yes then I'll do a proper search,"

"no rushing about, no other places to be."

And the day moved on

"Busy, to much to do, no time to even think"

"No time for me, here then there I must be."

"What a day, what a life, but soon, yes, soon."

"Only me, Then I'll have the time to look."

Then evening approached

He had the time, and looked for what was lost.

Wandered aimlessly, poked through boxes bare.

Closets full of dust, there was nothing there.

Then he found it where he left it,

as he left it, laying there.

The dark of night closed around

He gently picked it from the ground

It glowed, and gleamed from there inside.

Then deep within its twisting, misty depths he saw,

He, The child that used to be

Looking out, and tears rolling down for that what was,

that lost, now found...

An ontologic artistic compósition... "A Child's Tears" reveals the the social and soul's searching in its poemization. A poetic feast in philosophic table.

I really do think I have kept that little child inside me so far and always will. Am 63 but not really that all grown up. Act so childishly sometimes and find the inner me. To be young and free again is not to be for me but I can look at photos and find the natural younger me. Weightless too even then. All in all I am still me.

Richard,
Excellent poetry, A magical tale of what used to be, I feel most of us are still searching for that 'little' child still inside all of us. Some are fortunate enough to find it.:)

Many blessings,
~Linda

Such a beautiful and imaginative way to bring the past through to the present and then, for a little while, back to life...

Be always safe,

Charming very charming words you pen this day. I had a similar experience just last night escaping into dreams to meet up with the little girl long since gone who lived such a carefree life. Well Done. Deborah

Wow! Really nice. The words took me to another place as if it was me searching for something! Really Nice!
