A song I wrote from in the blue shadows of evening.

1.  The moon is her mask
     the stars are her tears,
     veiled in darkness
     and endless years,
     gathering sighs,
     lost and forlorn,
     she lingers in silence
     and wraps me in thorn.

chorus:  Soft and low, she calls to me,
A friend I'd rather never see--
Cold, is her comfort and embrace,
             ghosting by in tranquil grace--

2.  Death is sometimes
     by her side
     In the shadows
     of eventide.
     An open wound
     that we all know,
     she haunts lost reaches
     deep in the soul.

chorus:  Soft and low, she calls to me,
A friend I'd rather never see--
Cold is her comfort and embrace,
             ghosting by in tranquil grace--

cres.     Melancholy whispers,
            "child you are blessed,
            wisdom grows from pain
            in the valley of excess."

chorus:   Soft and low, she calls to me,
A friend I'd rather never see--
Cold is her comfort and embrace,
             ghosting by in tranquil grace--

Soft and low, I hear it... and from that pain grows this wisdom, that in her embrace you'll find it.

The hook for this song is strong with a sort of soft haunting sweetness to it that would lend itself well to to a rock blues ballad, I could see someone like Eric Clapton throwing some awesome rifts behind this one with Stevie Nicks doing the vocals! Great job!
