Of course it's the pen that's stupid -- not me.

Poem Artwork

This stupid pen is stubborn as a block of stone.
It cuts its flow and acts as dry as desert bone.
Has it devised this plan as though to pay me back?
What had I done? What creature comfort did it lack?

I loved that pen when it was new I in school.
But now it's making me look like a silly fool.
Revenge? Perhaps it wants to drive me up a tree?
Was its intent to make an awkward nut of me?

The time has come. I'll show that pen's who's really boss.
Ingratitude. I'll give that pen a mighty toss,
For any pen without its ink just isn't cool.
Be gone you dried up writing tool. You worthless fool!

It seems to me, your useful life right now is spent.
You'll be replaced. You're really twisted, dry, and bent.
Your simple function's something I can soon replace.
A pencil? Yes! Its errors are easy to erase.
