Along a craggy road Damascus bound
with saber high in search of Christian band,
his army ready for unsettled ground
for those whose rhetoric spreads through the land.
Behold, a great white light! It takes his sight,
encircles him in dark, dispels the day.
A solemn dialogue with God gives fright,
and all his bravery shatters fast away.
A world stands motionless like stony walls,
his brutal ways fall on the road. He calls
for Jesus’ love to wash his heart and soul.
At last he understands and is made whole.
In everything by faith Paul writes content
He pens his letters, fasts “The Way” of lent.
We also can echo his example.
His trials, his feats, for us is ample.
