Like a blaze burning on the horizon,
the sun sets on another day of dreams obscured by life's reality.
The repetitiveness of work's endless imprisonment; I yearn to be free.
My desk is my palace, my computer my taskmaster. How I hate where I dwell!
My dreams of freedom are dashed by work's demands.
I sit in a dreary cubit and face a flicking screen.
Countless hours spent contemplating how to break free from the drudgery.
I try to draw my mind from the traffic that passes outside my window; are they free?
Slowly they trail past.
Do they dream of their own freedom?
Dream on, I tell myself.
Dream on; tomorrow the blazing horizon may be the reflection of my joy for freedom realized.
