Thirsty for another drink,
I have fallen
to the woes of my rage
that cursed a blessed path.

I have seen myself
in the images of the lost and desolate
as if to be looking in a mirror.

Every broken promise,
Every lingering lie,
Every slap that has forced another
to turn in fear or anger
or shutter crookedly in pain.

I speak plainly in the face of my
unbridled compromises that
brings me lesser to you.
Yet I am thirsty for another drink.

Can you see a calming voice
in a man so far from home?
Can you see who I am to become
and continue to reach and call a
man that I have not yet seen?

Underlying, I am striken
to the point of hopelessness,
easier to drown in my own convictions.
I am here as a child before you.

Yet these bones have seen the years flying by,
pondered the empty minutes spent
turning away from you.
All my hope is in you.

You believe in what I have not yet become
my faith must become my courage.
Your kingdom is the bounty in which
I yearn to dwell.

I plead to you my king...
fill my cup with living water
breathe deep inside of me
I will get up once again.

I do not deserve you
yet you continue to call me.
When I cannot show mercy
you remind me how mercy feels.

You have sealed my future in you tight
like the bond a child feels in the womb
and the beauty I have pondered
watching the sun slowly slip into the sea
A canvas of the glory you created

I come now lesser to me but more to you
and lay my fortunes in the hope of all things
to come, yet not seen but tasted in the senses
A reflection of you in every living thing.
Paradise is at the end of my outstretched
hands, a reflection of you that lives in me.

Come break the dawn!
I will rise up again to feel the crowning
moment and move to be with you forever.

Timothy, this is so intense, so honest and spiritual. It's sacred, almost too sacred to be heard by anyone but God. Beautiful poem and prayer. I've missed you too.
