Bright Lights! Sweet Joys!

Ubi caritas et amor
Deus ibi est: I live for
That presence of God in those around me
In whose love and kindness God has found me
Post tenebras lux: after dark
However deep however stark
The light returns and dark must fade away
Must yield to the epiphany of day
With love and light surrounding me
I reach to you across the sea
And pour it all into your heart
For you and I are not apart
But yin and yang in loving equipoise
God bloom within your heart: Bright lights! Sweet joys!

Am Anfang eines Regenbogens,
wir beide standen dicht davor.
Er lockte uns mit seiner Pracht,
wir schauten hoch empor.
Vertrauensvoll und Hand in Hand,
so stiegen wir hinauf.
Schauten einfach nicht zurück,
schloss man uns doch den Himmel auf.
Auf des Regenbogens Mitte
ließen wir uns nieder.
Glitten einfach tief hinab
und fanden uns in Liebe wieder.
