Rising When the Raven Sings
I buried my mother in an angel costume
And if I could I would have laid her in a tomb
Of gold and ebony for all the world to see
But in addition to our secrets lay our plot
The final resting place for those whom time forgot
Supposedly for family but not for me
Because I had to sell my grave to stay alive
And the family plot turned out to be
Just another conspiracy theory
Since I sold my grave I have been afraid to drive
Out there and see a stranger buried next to her
Together with her always as we always were
Death and transfiguration
I can hear the rustle of her satin wings
Active imagination
I can see her rising when the raven sings
Surprise with eyes of warning
There lies another in my narrow bed
Good night star bright good morning
Wait for me mother: the others are dead
