Looking Up Many seasons have found Me down on the ground Looking up at the sky For what comes around For what more than for why Like I did before Why not my reason I Still am anyway Until I am no more I had to be me Apparently and so I learned the hard way I had to be though mad But I came to see It turned out not so bad Learning reasons for The seasons round and round Turning as they go So I am glad to be Going on to grow Especially today Knowing what I know Especially in spring Knowing I would do It all over again More than anything It was good to come true Even though I had To be mad I am glad I had to have been To do what I had to My way out was in Why not my reason why Knowing now is when On my way in I found Me down on the ground For now and not for then Looking up down through The years it took somehow For me to be now For what comes around Looking up at the sky Steven Curtis Lance
