Please Hurry

On the night before the day
That might become someday
Up late I feel a downfall
An ending to begin

A turning of the wheel when
The unreality
Unravels revealingly
What all of this has been
This shadow play in sorrow

Our un-Shakespearean
Historical tragedy
A mystery to me
Unreality TV

Until someday today
Will hope for hope tomorrow
Learning the lesson of
What can happen without love

Having seen it happen
Wantonly but hauntingly
Wanting to see it all
Awaiting fate I worry
That I might be too late

If all good things must end then
Just this one bad one in
Time for me Lord let me see
When we get free again

I might not have time to wait
Later so please hurry

This poem is part philosophical and part social commentary, mirroring the patterns, or lack of them, in our busy lives, complete with the emotions that accompany our journeys. I enjoy your "loose rhyme" and internal rhyming within this primarily free verse poem, it added a spice of almost humor to an otherwise rather deep theme. Nicely done!

"When we get free again". Oh, for that day no longer knowing that haunting but to be truly free to be! Great write as usual!!

Love ya!
